The modern world is a time of technologies and advanced expertise, where Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a disruptive technology in virtually all spheres of life. It has not only changed the industry, business or the healthcare system, it has also brought a tremendous change in the education, training as well as social empowerment of women. In Sindh especially where women still do not have much access to education and employment AI can provide a new ray of hope to the future.
The Role of AI in Education
Socially, women are not able to get higher education in many regions of Sindh due to lack of resources and social limitations. Nevertheless, now, women can study at the comfort of their homes because of AI-based applications and online learning platforms, including ChatGPT, Coursera, Khan Academy, and Google AI Tools.
These AI-based educational systems are not only able to provide answers but they are able to create personalized learning experiences as per the level, interest, and ability of that specific learner. It implies that women in Sindh, who cannot go to colleges or universities due to many reasons, can now have access to online education, research, and the development of the skills with the help of AI.
The process does not only increase the access to education but also improves the quality of education. To take an example, a country girl who used to have no chance to access a library or a teacher can now use ChatGPT to obtain information related to any topic, i.e., science, literature, health, or business.
Emerging Employment Opportunities.
With AI, women have also gained new opportunities of employment in Sindh. Freelancing, data entry, content writing, digital marketing, graphic design and AI training have become actual sources of income to women via online work.
It has been found that many organizations and companies have started providing women with the option of working remotely whereby all that is required is a laptop, internet connection and a basic knowledge of AI. Presently, approximately 25 percent of freelancers in Pakistan are female with many of them being based in the towns and villages of Sindh.
Women are starting their own online business and entrepreneurial projects with the help of AI-based software such as Canva, ChatGPT, Copilot or Google Gemini, which are simplifying the work.
Social Change and Empowerment.
Gender AI is not merely opening educational and job prospects but also helping women to gain social awareness and self-confidence. When a woman is able to make money on her own merit, she not only becomes financially independent she also becomes able to make decisions in her own family and society.
This kind of empowerment can make a historic change to the Sindhi women who have always been trapped in the traditional horizons. The cycle is slowly being disrupted through AI, and the new age and bright future of women asserting their right to be in the knowledge and technology as well as leadership are coming closer.
Difficulties and Accountabilities.
Though AI has enormous possibilities, it also has some threats. The most critical one is the digital literacy most women in Sindh do not even know the basics of using computers. The other significant threat is low internet connectivity and poor infrastructure particularly in the rural regions. There is also the need to change the parental and societal attitudes such that women are motivated and allowed to study and work online. Educational institutions, social organizations, and governments have to cooperate with each other to introduce digital training and AI learning programs that are oriented towards the requirements of a new age.
Concisely, AI has created a new field of educational opportunities and work to women in Sindh. Not only does it make learning easy, but also opens the way to economic and social independence. Unless Sindhia women learn, comprehend and effectively apply this technology, it is only a matter of time before they will contribute significantly to not only making their lives better, but also in enhancing the economy and development of Sindh itself.
